Dialler input gets thumbs up down under
terriersc
is proud to announce that the dialler input spot.one has passed all
the tests required for Australian Telecoms approval.
Three areas of testing are necessary before products can
be used in conjunction with a telephone line and these are CE testing, Safety
testing and telecoms testing. The CE testing for Electro-Magnetic Compatibility
of the whole family of spot products was established several years ago but
safety and PSTN compatibility have been tested this year.
Safety testing was to EN60950 and the equivalent International
standard IEC60950 that is recognised worldwide. This standard looks at product
handling and their connection to other systems which may include high voltages
or other equipment like power supplies and telephone lines. The physical
composition of the product is also examined in detail to verify the fire
safety of components.
The dialler input spot.one provides for the alarm
panels dialler to fall back to a PSTN connection when an Upload/Download
connection is required or if the IP connection fails. The communicator gives
the panel full control over the PSTN connection so that it can seize the
line and disconnect telephone apparatus when it is dialling out.
Once the safety testing had been completed, our Australian
partner Contact Services took on the Telecoms testing to ensure compliance
to the Australian Communications Agencys requirements. The dialler
input spot.one was then duly tested to AS/ACIF S002:2005 and is now ready
to receive the A-tick Approval and bring low-cost, fully supervised high
security alarm signalling to Australian alarm installers.
